2012 Ferrari FF V12 engine 2+2 seating and AWD supercar specs and wallpaper - video

2012 Ferrari FF

Ferrari has unveiled the first in its history, four-wheel drive supercar

The car is really un-Ferrari. This is the first production car of the mark with this body shape, front-V12 engine, 2 +2 seating and AWD.

The shapes of the Ferrari FF are the work of Pininfarina and are conducted under the direction of chief of dizaynera Ferrari - Flavio Manzoni. The model is built on a completely new chassis with a wide wheelbase, and has four full-size seats and large luggage space.

Drive to all four wheels is entrusted to the system 4RM, which allegedly has a weight of about 50% lower than that of competing systems for four-wheel drive. 4RM sends 100% of engine power to the rear wheels, but if necessary, part of it is redirected to the front axle. The distribution of masses in the ratio of 47/53 in favor of the rear axle.

V12 engine has a volume of 6.25 liters and generates 650 hp at 8000 rpm and 683 Nm at 6000 rpm. Average fuel consumption is within the 15.4 L/100 km and harmful CO2 emissions - 360 g / km.

Acceleration from standstill to 100 km / h. takes only 3.7 seconds and a top speed transfer 330 km / h. The total weight of the car is only 1790 kg and offers a boot volume of 450 liters, which, when folding the rear seats reaches - 800 liters.

Vehicle dimensions are almost identical to those Ferrari 612. The main difference is expressed in height, which in FF has 30 mm more. Ferrari FF also surpasses its predecessor with more force (about 16%), less harmful emissions (around 23%), more dynamic acceleration (0.4 sec), higher maximum speed (about 16 km / h) and a lower overall weight (about 50 kilograms).

The official premiere of "family Ferrari", suitable for long trips, will take place at the Geneva Motor Show.

Hot News: Ferrari to Debut 612 Estate at Geneva Show?

Ferrari turns practical? That’s the
shock news from Maranello, where a shooting brake concept based on the 612 Scaglietti is being prepared for
the Geneva Motor Show in March.

The first result from a new, in-house styling team, the estate has been overseen by Fiat Group design boss and ex-Pininfarina head Lorenzo Ramaciotti. Although its name has not yet been confirmed, the two-door, V12 concept has been produced for two reasons: to see how far Ferrari can stretch its brand away from its traditional supercars, and to give the 612 Scaglietti a fitting send-off as the four-seat super coupé, launched in 2004, nears the end of its run.

“We know there can never be a Ferrari SUV,” one source insisted. “But we would like to find out what we can put the marque’s DNA into and still have it accepted as a Ferrari.” The replacement for the 612 Scaglietti is also imminent. Codenamed F151, the new two-door coupĂ© will join Ferrari’s GranTurismo line-up to sit alongside the California, but it will be priced at around £230,000 – considerably more than the £143,870 currently charged for the drop-top.

Ferrari sources have described the forthcoming car as “more versatile”, hence why the designers are testing the water with this radical and roomier concept version of its predecessor. With the firm also ruling out a four-door saloon earlier this year, a fastback design for the next-generation GT makes the most sense.

Despite its revolutionary looks, the 612 Scaglietti concept car isn’t the first Ferrari wagon. The company has built plenty of one-offs for wealthy Middle Eastern and Asian buyers, including a 456 GT-based Pininfarina-bodied shooting brake in the early Nineties for the Sultan of Brunei. The company officially introduced the Ferrari racing modification supercar 458 Italia, dubbed Challenge. Presentation of the car, which next year will take part in the championship Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli, took place on Wednesday in Maranello during the annual meeting of the representatives of the dealers brand. Also in the race supercar are widely used carbon fiber parts, instead of conventional glass set their polycarbonate counterparts. Supercar Ferrari 458 Challenge is equipped with the same engine as the standard car - 570-horsepower 4.5-liter eight-cylinder engine with direct fuel injection. According to representatives of the Italian manufacturer, racing, "Italy" passes the circle test track at Fiorano in 1 minute 16.5 seconds, almost two seconds faster than the predecessor to this model - F430 Challenge.
