Detroit Motor Show 2011 Ford Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca Test - Modern Muscle Car

Yes, the thing with reality. At the Detroit Motor Show 2011 show the U.S. auto industry, how they imagine the future: rational small cars, like with hybrid drive, the ecologically pure purr to a better future of automobiles. Great. But also a little way off. Thankfully. Your bread to earn, the former "Big Three" that is currently still with  like the Ford Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca - has allowed the most radical street Mustang, the Ford ever in the public local and long distance services. autobild.de editorial director Jochen servant has paid a visit to Brummer.
No power to the rise: the super-sized lip is on the front apron of the Mustang Boss 302 equipment package Laguna Seca - the top of the Boss series. One needs something only when you're on the racetrack - or a private snow plow. Under the hood power dome-mogul has made it comfortable to five liters a whole wild horse-extended family. Once roused, the pack 445 hp stomps into the ground. About. So very well know the fact no one at Ford. This also applies to the 514 Nm of torque, sending the eight-cylinder to the rear axle. Eyes and go: The retro cockpit of the Mustang Boss 302 must be found not beautiful. And certainly not high quality. Really great but the crisp, narrow car seats that have concerned the establishment of Ford Experts at Recaro. Many ordinary Americans will, however, problems have to stow the pounds with dignity. Nice touch: The bottom small patio home for three classic circular instruments, record lap times and with which data can measure additional engine. Black lumps: Who wants to move the boss has to switch from hand. There is not automatic. Back seat? Too heavy. Where else cower the passengers, solid struts for more strength in the body.via

Detroit Show 2011 Highlights: 2012 Chrysler 300C

Chrysler's facelifted 300C, which has made its public debut at the Detroit motor show today, is set to heavily influence the future styling of its future models as part of a serious "comeback onto the automotive stage".

Chrysler and Lancia boss Olivier Francois is keen for the US brand to thrive under Fiat ownership and the 300C would play a central role in this.

The chunky four-door gets a mild restyle that includes a liberal dab of chrome around its front end - including the tops of the side mirrors, unusually - and LED daytime running lights. Chrysler's senior vice president of design Ralph Gilles told Autocar the 300C's grille will form the basis of the firm's new corporate look.

The car's overall profile does change slightly, though; its A-pillars are more rakish and thinner, improving visibility. There's also a double-length sunroof, designed to make the cabin feel more airy.

Chrysler is also promising refinements to the interior, including a larger touchscreen (8.4in), a finer grade of leather seats, soft-touch dashboard materials and a revised infotainment package.

The company will introduce its latest 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 engine to the model, which developes 288bhp and 260lbft of torque. Also available will be the 5.7-litre, V8 HEMI unit with 358bhp and a 0-60mph time of under six seconds.

The 300C will be one of the Chrysler models to remain in Fiat Group's revised UK line-up for the brand - although the British spec of the car is likely to do without some of the chrome flourishes and stick to diesel power instead of adopting the US car's V6 and V8 petrol powerplants.

Chrysler confirmed late last week that the 300C will be joined by the Grand Voyager and rebadged Lancia Deltas and Ypsilons in 2011. The 300C will also be sold in continental Europe, as a Lancia.

Detroit Show 2011 Highlights: Porsche 918 RSR Concept

Porsche is showcasing the future production version of its 918 hybrid project — and stealing the limelight at this week’s Detroit motor show — with this 756bhp race car, called 918 RSR.

The new model takes the powerplant originally showcased in the 918 Spyder at the 2010 Geneva show and builds on its power and efficiency. Its V8 motor (Porsche hasn’t revealed its capacity yet but acknowledges that it’s a development of the RS Spyder racer’s 3.4-litre unit) produces an extra 55bhp, taking it to 555bhp at a heady 10,300rpm.

That grunt is fed through the rear wheels via a six-speed paddle-shift transmission, while a pair of front-mounted electric motors contribute an additional 201bhp to give a total of 756bhp. They use energy stored during braking in a flywheel spinning at up to 36,000rpm, and their power is called up manually by the driver pushing a button.

The flywheel system, which has potential weight benefits over heavy battery cells, is a development of the set-up already used by Porsche’s current hybrid racer, the 911 GT3 R Hybrid. It uses technology commissioned by Porsche and built by a division of the Williams F1 team.

Porsche claims the system can provide up to eight seconds of continuous supply when fully charged, and that it offers a torque vectoring ability to improve agility and steering response. However, in the 911 GT3 R Hybrid, the electric motors can also be used to help reduce fuel consumption, cutting the number of pitstops required or allowing the vehicle to run with less fuel on board.

The 918 RSR’s construction focuses on keeping the car’s weight to a minimum. As with the original Spyder, its monocoque chassis is made from carbonfibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP). But unlike the Geneva show car, the RSR has a hard-top and doors that open vertically.

It’s widely believed that the shape of the RSR — huge rear wing excepted — is that of the eventual 918 production model. Many of the core features of the 918 Spyder remain, including the deeply scalloped rear bodywork, side-mounted exhausts and air intakes at either side and on top of the rear cowling.

The number carried by the Detroit show car — 22 — pays tribute to a 917 short-tail coupĂ© that won the 1971 Le Mans 24 Hours in the hands of Helmut Marko and Gijs van Lennep. Its distance record — 3315.21 miles at an average speed of 138.13mph — stood until last year’s running of the classic enduro. The car’s colour scheme is a blend of what Porsche calls “liquid metal blue” and the orange commonly used on the firm’s hybrid projects.

2013 Ford C-Max Energi Live Photos Detroit Auto Show 2011

After the EV Focus, Ford continues to reveal a range in Detroit greener, with the C-Max Energi. This model is based on the European C-Max minivan but it embeds a lithium-ion battery, an electric motor and a combustion engine. The latter must operate when the battery is empty, but unlike the C-Max Hybrid, C-Max Energi does not charge by recovering energy during braking, but by plugging directly into a wall outlet. The goal is to ride as much as possible in zero emission mode and Ford announced a range of 800km (engine included). The C-Max Energi will be produced in Wayne, Michigan and sold in 2012.

Audi has unveiled the new A6 and the sedan comes in a hybrid version. With the Q5 Hybrid, Hybrid A6 becomes the second Audi model to be coupled thermal and electric engines. The lithium-ion battery nestled it in a secure compartment in the trunk.

The A6 Hybrid can evolve in three ways. If the sedan that can go 3km in zero emission mode, it can run exclusively with block TFSI or hybrid mode.
Hybrid Mode

When both motors work together, the electric motor also acts as a generator, thanks to the recovery of braking energy. It may also give a boost to the engine for a revival of power, for example when overtaking.

Performance-wise, the A6 Hybrid swallows the 0 to 100 in only 7.3 seconds with a top speed of 238km / h. It displays a combined cycle fuel consumption of 6.2L per 100 to 142g of CO2 per km, which places France in the neutral zone side bonus. And Now Hyundai Veloster 2012 Sports Coupe Not Spy - Detroit Auto Show 2011

The Veloster has been on edge for months, years, all to discover for the first time today as part of Detroit. Does what we expected? For while the aesthetic is debatable (to taste colors) I'm going to play me a stoning complaining directly about what I see and read in the press release. Vale, comment on a data sheet and translated into feelings of driving is extremely complex, but I've taken a considerable disappointment with the production Veloster.
